Urban Yoga is a unique yoga studio that brings
yoga to the workplace through classes at your office, professional
conferences or corporate retreats. Designed to fit into your busy workday,
Urban Yoga will show you how to maintain tranquility amid chaos, become
strong and flexible and improve your concentration.
A workaholic familiar with the rigors of life
as a professional in Washington, D.C., Karin Wiedemann lived the 12
hour work day, jumping on and off airplanes, racing from one meeting
to the next cradling a cell phone on her shoulder with an overstuffed
briefcase in tow. Then, one day she was dragged to a yoga class and
the rest as they say was history.
Karin has completed over 1,000 hours of study
with nationally known teachers John Friend, Suzie Hurley, Tias Little
and
David Swenson
and has attained several certifications in Ashtanga and Anusara yoga.
She began teaching Washingtonians to relieve stress in 1998 when she
joined the faculty at Willow Street Yoga Center. As an adjunct faculty
member at The George Washington University, Karin developed its first
yoga teacher training program. Karin was driven to ease the burdens
of modern American life by launching Urban Yoga in 2001, turning her
focus to teaching stress relief in the workplace and to business travelers.
Karin teaches students how to take their practice
to a deeper level by stressing alignment, breath and compassion. She
helps you to understand where you hold tension in your body and how
you can apply what you learn in class to your everyday life.
